Catalysis process broadly divided into two groups:

(A) Homogeneous catalysis:-

     If the reactants and the catalyst are

     Present in same phase in a chemical           reaction then the catalysis process is

     known as homogeneous catalysis.

(B) Heterogeneous catalysis:-

      If the reactants and the catalyst are in  

      Present different phase in a chemical          reaction then the catalysis process is          known as heterogeneous catalysis.
