What is total internal reflection ?

Answer:-
When light travels from a denser medium to a rarer medium, the angle of refraction is greater than the angle of incidence. For certain angle of incidence called critical angle the angle of refraction becomes 90°. When angle of incidence in the denser medium exceeds critical angle, the ray gets reflected back into the denser medium. This is called total internal reflection.
In given figure medium 1 is denser than medium 2
