Explanation:-
When bird flies it strikes the air with its wings,air also exerts a reaction force on bird's wings in opposite direction(by Newton's 3rd law).
Look at the figure, in which these reaction forces are represented by ON1 & ON2.The resultant of ON1 & ON2 is ON. It is the net upward force which causes the bird to fly.
