what is median ?

Median is the middle value for a set of data that has been arranged in order of smallest to largest. To find median of n no. of values first we have to arrange the given values in ascending (increasing) order.
Median= the value in (n+1/2)th place , if n is odd
Median= [ the value in (n/2)th place+the value in (n/2+1)th place ] / 2 , if n is even
