What is electronegativity ?

Answer:- It is the tendency of an atom in a molecule to attract the shared pair of electrons towards itself. It is the property of a bonded atom.Fluorine is the most electronegative whereas cesium is the least electronegative element in the whole periodic table.

Explain Recoil of a gun 🔫 ?

Image
Explanation:- When a bullet is fired from a gun, the gun recoils back. The reason is that the gun exerts an action force on bullet in forward direction, the bullet also exerts an equal and opposite reaction force as gun.As a result the gun recoils in backward direction. The gun-man feels a backward jerk.

What is resolution of a vector ?

Answer:- If vector is resolved into two or more vectors whose combined effect is same as that of the given vector, then the resolved vectors are called the components of the given vector. This is called resolution of vector. The resolution of a vector is opposite to that of vector addition.

State Graham's law of diffusion ?

Statement:- Under similar conditions of temperature and pressure the rates of diffusion of gases are inversely proportional to the square root of their densities.

What is centripetal force ?

Answer:- Centripetal force is that external force which deflects a particle from its linear path to make it moves along a circle and is always directed radially inwards.

State Dalton's law of partial pressure ?

Statement:- When two or more chemically inert gases are enclosed in a vessel or allowed to intermix at constant temperature, the pressure exerted by the mixture of gases will be equal to the sum of the partial pressures which each gas exerts on the vessel.

Why the tyre of an automobile 🚗 is inflated to lesser pressure in summer than in winter ?

Answer:- In summer the room temperature is much higher as compared to winter. Consequently, the same volume of air will exert greater pressure in summer than in winter.(because according to Lussac's law at constant volume, pressure directly proportional to temperature 🌡️).Therefore to avoid the bursting of tyres it is always advisable.

Why a cricket player moves his hands backward while catching a ball 🏀?

Image
Answer:- Initially the ball is moving with a certain velocity and the player has to apply a retarding force to bring the ball to rest in his hand.In this case ∆t→0 so a large force exerted by the ball upon the hands of player. But if he moves his hands backward then he provide a greater time for change in momentum. Thus a small force is exerted by the ball upon the hands.

What is zeroth law of thermodynamic ?

Answer:- The zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two thermodynamic system each in thermal equilibrium with a third system, then they are in thermal equilibrium with each other. According to this law   If Temperature of A = Temperature of C  & Temperature of B = Temperature of C then, Temperature of A=Temperature of B

Why halogens have maximum electron gain enthalpy ?

Answer:- Halogens are have small size with high nuclear charge as a concequence they rapidly accept one electron to attain noble gas configuration. Therefore halogens are have maximum negative gain enthalpy.

Explain Flight of bird 🕊️ .

Image
Explanation:- When bird flies it strikes the air with its wings, air also exerts a reaction force on bird's wings in opposite direction(by Newton's 3rd law). Look at the figure, in which these reaction forces are represented by ON1 & ON2.The resultant of ON1 & ON2 is ON. It is the net upward force which causes the bird to fly.
